Shop for a good cause: 1000 Paper Cranes for Japan

Yesterday Nicki from The Transcontinental Affair started making paper cranes in the hopes it would ease her heartbreak a little over the horrendous situation which continues to unfold in Japan.

"Quickly I realized that my practice wasn't actually helping the situation or anyone in japan one little bit, so I made a plan. I am now making one thousand paper cranes and selling them at the Bondi markets this Sunday (20th March). Every dollar we make on the day is going straight to the Japanese Red Cross Society. We have many generous friends onboard who have already contributed towards the cost of having a stall at the markets and the beautiful (albeit expensive) origami paper. I have made 150 so far after deciding to do this yesterday and a lovely friend has already made 20. That's 170 with 4 days left! hopefully some wonderful friends will be coming by tonight for a fold-fest and our goal of 1000 will be met by Sunday. please come down to the markets if you're in Sydney and/or in the area. And please give generously for a very good cause to a grave situation."

Amen to that and good luck, Nicki. Bondi markets are one of my all time favourite markets in Sydney, so get your shop on, Tonic-ettes and contribute to a great cause. No amount is too small. Every cent counts.
